Buttonwood Renovations has used the Smith and Company CPES and fill it for over 25 years. We have found the CPES epoxy the best consolidant and the Fill It paste adhesive filling products to be superior to all others. Every restoration crew member on my team stocks it in their vehicles. The penetration of the CPES can be used as a stand alone product to reinvigorate dry , potentially vulnerable wood and as a primer. It is also the “root” system for further applications of the Fill It when a structural fill is necessary.The Fill It can also be used solely as an adhesive to re bond tile, bricks and wood products.Both were used extensively on the sash restoration prior to install and on the Ellis House tower for architectural trim, sashes and corner boards.We use both products on our museum house restorations and our privately owned historic homes.
